Let There Be Light

2017・Canada・80 minutes

In the countryside of southern France, scientists from 37 countries are working together to try to build the "International Thermonuclear Fusion Experimental Reactor" (ITER). If this experiment succeeds, it will provide cheap, clean and sustainable energy for the earth for millions of years to come; but if it fails, it will be the biggest scientific setback in history. This film interviews many scientists involved, gives a glimpse into their work, and explores how "making the sun", an imagination that originally appeared in science fiction novels, happened step by step in reality.
