From Cuba’s National Art Schools born out of Castro’s revolution,
to dreams of resisting authoritarianism through music,
or the fictional figure of the Big Man Japan—a humorous critique of Japan’s cultural sensitivities—
these visions all ask: Whose promised land is utopia? Is this dream we yearn for and follow…perhaps nothing more than an illusion?
