Over the past 11 years, the New Taipei City Documentary Project has cultivated a rich legacy—
with 96 outstanding selected works and 87 talented directors nurtured through its efforts. This year's 2021 New Taipei City Online Documentary Festival presents a curated selection of these exceptional films, inviting audiences to explore a diverse range of compelling stories.
The featured documentaries cover a wide spectrum of themes: family histories, new immigrants, transgender identity, life reflections, youth returning to their hometowns, generational conflicts in immigrant families, the daily lives of people with intellectual disabilities, the voices of Hongkongers in pursuit of freedom and democracy, and the tension between environment and economy.
Each film is a window into a unique world—poignant, powerful, and not to be missed.
