Hidden Away

Antonio Ligabue's Italian parents came to the German-Swiss border illegally to work odd jobs. After his mother passed away, he was given to a couple for adoption. However, Antonio's mental problems made him unpopular. As the identity issue was revealed , and was forced to be deported to Italy. He was homeless throughout his life and was in and out of mental hospitals numerous times until he met a sculptor and began to learn painting and sculpture, becoming an important amateur art painter in Italy in the 20th century.
