Eternal Love

A young couple, pretending to be married, checks into a hotel only to encounter a police raid.  The woman's lover dies unexpectedly, leaving her wracked with guilt and her father burdened by police extortion.  Deepak, a poor young student from the lowest caste, falls in love with the upper-caste Xia Lu.  Besides helping his family run their cremation business by the river, he studies hard, hoping for a government job so he can escape his hometown and elope with Xia Lu. The waters of the Ganges are said to wash away sins, and even in the face of cruel fate, these individuals find solace and a path toward a brighter future in the river.
