Scenes from a Marriage

Lawyer Marianne and her psychiatrist husband, Johan, have two sons and together built a stable family. However, their friend Peter’s marriage is gradually falling apart. Just as Marianne feels fortunate about her relatively intact family, Johan drops a bombshell—he has fallen in love with a woman named Paula. This seemingly ordinary middle-class couple transitions from affection to conflict, separation, and reunion. The mundane routines of daily life turn into a suffocating web.
