Last Train from Kaohsiung

One day, the village chief’s son Dai-tong (played by Li Kuan-chang), chases after Tsui-tsui (played by Bai Lan), a farm girl he fancies. As he tries to force himself on her, she is fighting to get away in a struggle. Just as Tsui-tsui is about to fall off the bridge, Chen Chung-i (played by Chen Yang) happens to walk past and comes to her rescue. Chung-i is a university student studying in Taipei and he is back to visit his family. The encounter brings Chung-i and Tsui-tsui together and soon they fall in love with each other. As the summer holiday is coming to an end, Chung-i promises Tsui-tsui that he will marry her and gets ready to catch the last train from Kaohsiung to Taipei. When Tsui-tsui is on her way to the station to see Chung-i off, her father and Dai-tong stop her, and the couple miss the chance to say their goodbyes. Nevertheless, Tsui-tsui has decided to escape from the marriage her father arranges for her and go to Taipei to pursue the romance she desires.
