Wen-Yi quits her job and moves with her husband to his rural hometown to care for his ailing mother. Though her mother-in-law means well, Wen-Yi struggles under the weight of traditional norms and cultural gaps.In a caged hen awaiting slaughter, she sees a reflection of her own confinement.

The director spotlights the roles of women in multi-generational households, while rising actress Chen You-Hsuan delivers a nuanced performance that captures the quiet fear and uncertainty of losing oneself in marriage.
