Zhao Shan, originally from Northeast China, came to Canada on a work visa but encountered obstacles at every turn. Xiao Yue, a small-time hoodlum, took in Zhao Shan out of hometown camaraderie. Dissatisfied that a Japanese restaurant in Maicheng was stealing business from nearby Chinese shops, Xiao Yue finally brought Zhao Shan to rob it. However, the Japanese owner was no pushover, instead forcing Zhao Shan and Xiao Yue to flee in disarray. They saw a car parked by the roadside and got in to leave, but this ride became a desperate escape....
