Héliotrope
2018・France・10 minutes
After the robot is brought into a natural environment, it will track the sun to ensure its own survival. It has the ability to be autonomous in terms of energy and activity, and can simulate the main behavior common to all living things: survival instinct. The robot is neither alive nor inert, and its unique design enables it to survive in a preset environment. Because its behavior is unpredictable, the film faithfully presents the robot's survival adventure without a script. As they adapt to each other, we see interesting rhythms and dialogues between robots, animals, plants, and natural minerals.
