The Elephant Dancer
2018・Taiwan・23 minutes
In the enclosure, lions jump through fire hoops, monkeys ride bicycles wearing clothes and hats, and goats trample and roll iron barrels. Outside the fence, humans compete to watch the animals' "anthropomorphic" entertainment performances. The zoo is like a paradise of happiness, bringing endless memories of laughter to adults and children. And animals trapped in "virtual nature", even if they are no longer forced to learn acrobatics, still cannot escape the cage of being watched every day. In their boring daily lives, the animals' bodies and minds gradually mutate. Does the elephant dance with joy, or falls into the abyss of anxiety?
