Lesbian Factory
2010・Taiwan・57 minutes
In 2004, female migrant workers from the Philippines were forced to face unemployment and unpaid wages due to malicious factory closures, and sought help from the Taiwan International Workers' Association (TIWA). TIWA recorded the work and daily life of seven lesbian couples while assisting them in organizing protest actions. In an inhumane system where they are like slaves, waiting to be selected by their employer with no autonomy, these couples are forced to face heartbreaking separation. But their love and trust for each other allowed them to stand up and fight for a more ideal quality of life. Even as groups oppressed by capitalism and marginalized by society, they still bravely crossed national borders and genders to defend their rights and love!
