Wild Cursive

2005・台灣・65 minutes

The book is not limited to the law, and the body is not limited to the shape. Lin Hwai-min's 2005 "Wild Cursive" is the final chapter of the "Cursive Trilogy", and it is also the most romantic and complete release of his transformation of body rhythm into Chinese calligraphy. The seven pieces of rice paper hanging on the stage and the ink stains flowing down during the performance form a magnificent ink forest. The dancer is in the middle of it, using Qi to pull the body, moving internally and externally, and freely entering and exiting the body and calligraphy, showing the results of ten years of practice by Cloud Gate dancers. In terms of choreography, it presents a romantic and free form, with no rules or structure on the surface. It is the embodiment of "the book is not limited to the law, and the body is not limited to the shape."
