Water Stains on the Wall

2010・Taiwan・63 minutes

"Water Stains on the Wall" originally refers to the stains that appear on the wall due to moisture, and is also a metaphor for the highest level of calligraphy. Lin Hwai-min took the name "Water Stains on the Wall" to explore another breakthrough in calligraphy aesthetics. With his unique creativity, he constructed a white stage tilted eight degrees. The projector sprinkled black clouds, which flowed and rendered on the stage like rice paper, creating an ever-changing landscape painting. The dancers run, leap, and enter and leave the cloud shadows, becoming legendary figures in landscape paintings. They are integrated with the music and the ebb and flow of cloud shadows, bringing the audience into a fantasy and ethereal world.
