Rice

Chishang, Taitung, is the hometown of "Emperor Rice". In recent years, its organically farmed rice has been selling well in EU countries. Lin Hwai-min used the projection of the landscape on the pond as the environment for his dance, from the watery first seedlings, the undulating waves of rice, the golden fields full of ears, to the scorched earth with wildfires everywhere, and the return to the blue sky and white clouds reflecting the spring of the paddy fields. The dance uses metaphors of earth, wind, pollen, water, and fire to vividly reflect the prosperity and reincarnation of life. This ode to the land of Taiwan is so beautiful and touching!
