At 3 o'clock in the middle of the night, the hustle and bustle of the distant city center could be heard faintly. On the streets outside Taipei, Lao Guo and his wife were running a porridge and small vegetable shop to provide hot food for people who stayed up late at night. The taxi driver, the tattoo artist next door, the young couple who runs the claw machine, and the stray dogs waiting for their owners to return, all find short solace in the long night here. By simply watching and listening, this film takes the audience into the sleeping city of Taipei, and gets a glimpse of its unknown layers and rhythms.
