The Three Strings—Exploring Dazai

Writer Gouzi, folk singer Lao Lang and director Tang Danian embarked on a searching journey on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the death of Japanese rogue writer Dazai Osamu. From Mitaka City and Kichijoji in Tokyo where Osamu Dazai lived, to his hometown in Aomori and the old house of Kaneki, where Osamu Dazai was born - the famous Xieyangkan, to Kamakura where Osamu Dazai committed suicide many times, and visited the famous Haruko Ota, the illegitimate daughter of Osamu Dazai, the "Son of the Setting Sun". They roamed wherever Dazai Osamu went, drinking, walking and chatting about wine, literature, women and death. This trip is not only an exploration of Dazai Osamu, but also everyone’s inward pursuit.
