鄭愁予(1933-),成名甚早,〈錯誤〉、〈賦別〉等作數十年來傳誦不衰。2005年落籍金門,是金門一大盛事。早期詩作因為心懷故土,家國之情與流放意識濃厚。70年代以後,流浪情懷不復,語言節奏感逐漸放鬆。近三十年來鄭愁予詩以文人情懷與現實餘裕為基礎,想像與體悟翻上一層,顯示一種他人難以模仿的情調,雖無早期的浪漫詠嘆,卻更為顯示技巧的爐火純青。
