嚴歌苓，生於上海，少年從軍，20歲從文。1986年出版第一本長篇小說，同年加入中國作家協會。代表作有《扶桑》、《人寰》、《白蛇》等作品，由她參加編劇的電影曾獲得多項亞太電影節、金馬獎等殊榮，並入選柏林和坎城影展。2024年推出長篇小說作品《米拉蒂》。
