The Man Who Became a Camera - Takuma Nakahira

2003・日本・89 minutes

Takuma Nakahira, a legend in the history of Japanese photography, was full of self-thinking and critical image creation and writing, as well as an activist character. However, he changed after suffering "retrograde memory loss" due to alcohol poisoning in 1977. Ryukyu in my memory also stays in 1970. In order to resolve the constant self-questions in my mind after the illness, I once again set foot on Ryukyu, which I still miss in my heart, in 2002 to rebuild my self-memory. Masashi Kohara's three-year personal recording has accumulated the ideas, daily light and shadow, and life that Nakahira Takuma still persisted in "later" and are inseparable from the camera.
