Li Zhongxiao, who was born in Hebei Province, came to Taiwan because of the war. He stayed in Taiwan for 60 years and never returned to his hometown. However, in his dreams, he had set foot on his hometown countless times, and each time he saw a river of blood. He joined the army not for politics, but just to have food to eat. History made him a member of both the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, and finally he became a volunteer to resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea. He was captured in the Korean War, came to Taiwan, got married and had a family. However, his heart was always hanging on, worried about the past. As a daughter, the director filmed her father's tumultuous and wandering life in the last few years of his life, and based on his memories, he took his place on his way home.
