Lost in the Fumes
2017・Hong Kong・93 minutes
After the Mong Kok incident in 2016, Leung Tin-chi became an opinion leader and later ran for the Legislative Council election. However, he was considered to support Hong Kong independence and was disqualified. He could only canvass votes for Leung Chung-hang, who was on the reserve list. When controversies over oath-taking occurred one after another in Hong Kong, the National People's Congress interpreted the law, and many members were disqualified, he faded out of the limelight and quietly returned to the United States. The director's camera records intimately, depicting the confusion of youth between self and ideals, innocence and the world, and also alluding to the contradictory struggles of the younger generation.
