Human Rights Film Festival

In everyday life, many human rights violations remain hidden. Their invisibility often stems from cultural norms or dominant societal values that normalize such conditions—rendering certain groups politically voiceless. At times, the dominant discourse conceals the structural injustices that limit individual freedom of choice, causing society to overlook these forms of oppression.
Thus, a crucial aspect of human rights advocacy lies in amplifying the voices of those marginalized, excluded, and silenced under dominant narratives. We believe that visual storytelling holds the power to evoke empathy—allowing audiences to experience realities beyond their own and fostering a deeper understanding of others’ circumstances.
We sincerely invite you to engage with this year’s film program. In a time when the future remains uncertain amid an ongoing pandemic, our featured sections—“Medical Human Rights” and “Global Mobility”—hold particular significance. They prompt us to reflect on the meaning of citizenship and belonging in contemporary society.
