Enchanting Shadow

On his way to collect rent, the scholar Ning Caichen spends the night at Jinhua Temple and befriends the swordsman Yan Chixia. The female ghost Nie Xiaoqian, pressured by an old demon granny, goes to Jinhua Temple to take Ning's life for the granny to feed on. Xiaoqian attempts to seduce Ning Caichen with beauty and gold, but he gently refuses her. Moved by his righteousness, she decides not to harm him and advises Ning to share a room with Yan Chixia, thus fortunately avoiding a disaster. This film is produced by the Shaw Brothers Studio and was selected for the Cannes Film Festival.
