Filmed in 1995 after Lee Teng-hui's visit to the United States, this film captures the heightened social tensions during the Taiwan Strait missile crisis instigated by China. Director Hsiao Ya-chuan uses a visual narrative to portray the atmosphere of imminent conflict in the Taiwan Strait during the 1990s.
