Lee Tsz-leung (Lau Chung-yan) is left to raise his two sons (Wong Kwun-hin, Cheng Pak-lam) after his wife's death. Burdened by his wife's huge medical expenses, he is financially strapped. Encouraged by his colleagues, he embezzles public funds. Lee then goes to the racetrack for a desperate gamble, but loses everything and becomes heavily indebted. In order to repay the embezzled money, he has no choice but to borrow from loan sharks, and suffers from the threats of the loan shark boss, both physically and mentally. In a bad mood, coupled with constant misunderstandings, Leung's relationship with his eldest son gradually deteriorates...
