Poppoya – A Railroad Man

Sato Acematsu, the stationmaster of Horomai Station, stands alone at his post at this small station that is about to be abandoned. For decades, no matter what happened in his life, he always guarded the platform. One day, the old man unexpectedly met three girls. The doll held by one little girl looked very much like the gift he had given his daughter, and it also reminded him of the children he had passed away... This film won the 1999 Winner of nine Japanese Academy Awards, it is directed by Yasuo Hirohata and stars Ken Takakura and Ryoko Hirosue.
