Tetsuo: The Iron Man

1989・Japan・68 minutes

On a scorching hot summer afternoon, an ordinary man drove down the street with his beloved wife and accidentally knocked down a mysterious metal maniac with an "iron fetish". I thought everything would be fine after abandoning the body in the wilderness, but unexpectedly, with steely resentment, the metal maniac possessed passers-by and chased them crazily. After being attacked, the man's body changes. When his limbs and organs are gradually transformed into metal machinery, the boundaries between man and beast, mind and material also begin to be eroded. Tsukamoto Shinya's stunning work, an unprecedented Japanese metal horror, shows the entanglement of desire between human beings and technology.
