Slices of Everyday Island Life｜Selected Animation Works by Director Yang Zixin
Animation director Yang Zixin, who hails from Taichung, has a remarkable ability to capture the subtle moments of everyday life in Taiwan—moments that feel deeply familiar, yet are often difficult to put into words: the play of light and shadow on a street corner, the sounds drifting through narrow alleyways, and the unspoken distance and warmth between people.
Within these seemingly ordinary scenes, Yang reflects on the ways we observe, experience, and look back on life. Through his images, viewers may also recognize a sense of intimacy and familiarity that feels distinctly Taiwanese.
