What can we understand and gain through Chinese characters? This film uses Chinese characters to explore international design and visual culture, touching on many issues such as how language shapes identity and the role of handwriting in the digital age. Shooting across three continents, interviews with designers and opinion leaders in related fields from all over the world, and a visit to Sunstar Type Foundry, the last traditional Chinese type foundry in the world. It not only explores Chinese characters, but also encourages viewers to gain insight and thinking about their own language and culture through completely different design perspectives.
