Find A Bright Day

2021・Taiwan・28 minutes

A-jay works in the unusual field of clearing out the belongings of the deceased, moving daily through one anonymous death scene after another. His life feels as if it has been frozen in time. During one assignment, a familiar voice shatters his numbness. This is one of the rare Taiwanese short films to focus on the theme of “post-mortem property cleaning.” It captures the emotional weight and fear borne by the living in the face of solitary deaths. Lead actor Huang Teng-hui delivers only a single line of dialogue throughout the entire film, yet conveys suppressed grief and unspoken farewells through body language and gaze. With authentic settings and restrained storytelling, the film invites the audience to glimpse the lives and deaths in forgotten corners, reflecting on the fragility of time, memory, and human connection.
