The film’s starting point is just the everyday chat and gossip of fortune telling: “Dreaming about leeches means you are going to have a son." Then, some people go on to say that “he once saw a giant” and “she was swept up by the waves and pushed back." At this point, the story goes beyond the boundaries of dreams. The film is like a dream, a refuge for our souls. Even though the Taitung Tjuabal tribe has undergone the baptism of colonialism and Christian ideology, in dreams, the world we truly believe in still remains palpable. This is a prose documentary film that gathers six dreamscapes, recording the shamanic beliefs of the Tjuabal tribe from 2013 to 2017.
