Humming Memory
2020・Taiwan・28 minutes
Ken is a young man who’s lived in his small hometown all his life, and currently spends his time working night shifts at the local gas station. During one such late-night shift, he reminisces about his childhood in this once-thriving town. Times were different then: thriving factories provided most of the residents with jobs and the town with a booming economy. Ken especially thinks back on all of the great friends he’d had, and how he sadly doesn’t get to see them anymore. Then Long Foot, one of those close childhood friends, walks through the door and proves the past should sometimes stay that way. What should have been a happy reunion turns into a melancholic self-examination as Ken is reminded of an unpleasant memory he’d hoped he’d never have to face again.
