Renzo Piano: The Architect of Light
2018・Spain・66 minutes
Spanish film master Carlos Sola spent three years tracking it! Documenting the journey of Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Renzo Piano in building Spain’s new landmark, the Botín Centre. This art and cultural center floating on the sea is composed of pure white buildings like wings connected by walking paths. Viewed from the air, it looks like a shell speaker made of steel and glass, leaning against the shore to listen to the changing tides. In order to avoid cutting off the sea view, the entire building was elevated, allowing visitors to have a panoramic view of the ocean and a glimpse of the light that the sky reflects on the entire city. A poetic building rewrites the soul of the city!
