Granny Project

2017・Germany・United Kingdom・Hungary・90 minutes

Three young people from different European countries asked their grandmothers about their memories of World War II: they were British secret agents, Nazi German dancers, and Hungarian Communist survivors of concentration camps. National antagonism has been a long-standing concern for them, but the grandmothers are no match for the invitation of their children and grandchildren to gather together, bringing history back to direct dialogue between people, and turning it into a family story rewritten by the grandmothers and their children and grandchildren together. It not only shows the spontaneity and freedom of the young generation in the face of heavy history, but also serves as a long-term conversation between generations.
