A Foley Artist
2016・Taiwan・101 minutes
Have you ever wondered how sound in movies is produced? Hu Ting-yi, Taiwan’s senior foley engineer, has been working in the film sound field for 40 years. Along the way from patriotic political propaganda films to literary and romantic films, he silently witnessed the most glorious era of Taiwanese films outside the invisible screen. This film starts from his small recording studio and explores various processes such as dubbing, soundtrack, Foley, sound effects, mixing, etc. It not only travels through the development history of Taiwanese film sound, but also profiles Master Hu's life!
