The Next Guardian

In a remote Himalayan village, the families of Bhutanese teenagers Jiyanbo and Darshi have been managing local Buddhist temples for generations. His father hopes that Ji Yanbo can inherit the family business and become the next guardian in the future. But in his prime, he loved football, mobile phones, and longed for the world outside his hometown. The difference in dreams between the two generations creates a generation gap that is difficult to bridge between parents and children. How do I make my beloved family understand my heart? The film depicts the bittersweet growth of a young man, and also presents a microcosm of the conflict between tradition and modernity in Bhutan.
