Return
2017・Taiwan・20 minutes
On the way back across the Eurasian continent, I picked up the fragmented youth years along the railway; it was a partial enlargement of the yellowed photo, and it was also a microcosm of an era. There are two journeys, one is traveling across Europe and Asia on the railway; the other is looking back at his grandfather’s life in exile during the war through family photos. In the swaying rhythm of the train, the past and present break the boundaries of time. When the dust-laden memories emerge bit by bit like light in the dark night, the traveler finally comes to the hometown he misses deeply, and also sees the homeland that he can never return to due to the absurdity of history...
