While the family is holding a funeral and welcoming a newborn under the same roof, a live chicken suddenly becomes the most troublesome gift of all. Seven-year-old Little Monkey sneaks out with Grandpa, determined to handle it like a grown-up. But what seems like a childish errand gradually turns into an absurd adventure through markets, streets, and imagined worlds. As death draws near for the first time, the way she understands the world begins to quietly change.
