The dependents and soldiers who came to Taiwan during the civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party were allocated villages by the government to live in, called dependent villages. Director Duan Peiyao grew up in a military military village and often played and interacted closely with her neighbors. Now that the military dependents' village has been demolished, the village in memory no longer exists. On the dilapidated old site, the light beams shining into the room from the windows reflected the dust floating in the air. The old fabrics were spread out in the utility room, unable to become uniforms for soldiers. The dilapidated vermilion floor tiles are the destination of young people who drifted to Taiwan after bidding farewell to their hometown. And these mottled and yellowing traces are the only evidence that they once existed...
