"There is no racial discrimination in this community, we just don't like black people." In 1989 in Brooklyn, a black youth named Yusef Hawkins accidentally got involved in a relationship dispute in the neighborhood next door due to a misunderstanding, and was shot dead by a group of white youths. What did he do, or did he do nothing, to end up in a murderous situation? Yusef's murder shocked the United States at the time and shook New York's seemingly stable social foundation.
