In 1980, just as the British post-punk band "Joy Squad" was at its peak, news broke that lead singer Ian Curtis had committed suicide at home, ending his short 23-year life. The death of the lead singer made Joy Division a legendary band, but why he sought death has always been a mystery that fans debate endlessly. The film is adapted from the memoir "Distant Touch" by his widow Deborah Curtis, which tells the story of Ian's painful struggles before he decided to die.
