Yoyav, a retired soldier, fled from Israel to Paris, but was brutally robbed when he first arrived. Seeing that he was about to end up on the street, he met a wealthy couple - the writer Ameler and his girlfriend Caroline, and was lucky enough to be rescued. Due to the huge mental trauma caused to him in the past, he completely refused to use his mother tongue, relying only on reciting synonyms from a dictionary in an attempt to integrate into this ideal country in his mind.
