About Endlessness

The film begins with a mysterious female narrator who slowly unveils the story. A pastor, bewildered by his faith, is whipped while carrying a cross; a soldier who lost his legs in the war becomes a street performer; a lonely woman returning home stands desolately at the station, with no one there to greet her; a couple floats in the air, gazing at a city engulfed in flames. Some cry, some laugh, some are hurt, and some rejoice. People constantly repeat their problems, but no one truly needs an answer. Renowned Swedish director Roy Andersson spent five years creating this masterpiece, which won him the Silver Lion for Best Director.
