On Happiness Road

Six-year-old Xiaoqi lives on Xingfu Road with her parents. Today is Xiaoqi's first day in elementary school. Her mother said that she must speak Mandarin in school, but Xiaoqi discovered that there is a classmate with blond hair and blue eyes in the class who also speaks Taiwanese. This film looks back at Taiwan in the 1980s through a child's perspective. At that time, adults believed that "Taiwan's money is too much money", while children believed that compatriots in mainland China ate banana peels, but they never thought about who ate the bananas. Looking back at that happy era that seemed to have a bright future but was actually ridiculous, I also reflect on the present - how an adult becomes an adult like you and me.
