Director Singing Chen, whose works have been selected for numerous international film festivals, spans both documentary and fiction, reflecting her long-standing social concerns and profound insights. Through a magical and poetic lens, she highlights the absurdity of reality and systemic issues.
Starting with her Taipei Film Award-winning "Bundled(2001)," the director has continuously explored how cinema can intervene in reality and respond to social issues. "The Clock(2011)" and "The Pig(2013)" directly confront forced relocation movements, while "The Walkers(2014)" is a long-term documentary on dancer Lee-Chen Lin, depicting the dialogue between art and the body, and exploring the rhythm and essence of life.
