In 1989, during an era when the entire nation was investing in the stock market, young boy Liao Jie and his father Liao Tailai depended on each other for survival. They believed in the inherent goodness of people and failed to notice the world changing around them. As the stock market soared and prices doubled, some became overnight millionaires, while others realized the harshness of reality; the naive and honest Liao father and son belonged to the latter group. Unexpectedly, they encountered a cunning and shrewd "old fox," which could drastically alter their fate. Faced with the diverging paths of wealth and conscience, what choice will they make?
