Days Before The Millennium

In the 1990s, Vietnamese woman Wen Hui marries into Taiwan but ends up living in a modest brick house. When she expresses her desire to open a business, her mother-in-law insists that bearing children should be her top priority. Her husband only seeks to expand their home in exchange for peace. However, the changing tides of society gradually begin to consume them. After the millennium, a mysterious Vietnamese private investigator, Pei Qiulan, starts uncovering Wen Hui's past, encountering people and events that evoke an eerie sense of déjà vu.
