Mayor Geng Yanbo hopes to develop tourism and restore its past glory. For this extraordinary project, he spent tens of billions of dollars to rebuild the ancient city vigorously and resolutely, and even more demolition forced 500,000 households to relocate. The mayor worked non-stop every day for this purpose.
