A Cat May Look at a King
2020・Taiwan・25 minutes
Lin Yongsheng, who drove a gas bucket truck through the streets of Tamsui, was once a well-known volunteer who suffered life and death at the fire scene. Now he is struggling with the deteriorating reality, carrying heavy iron buckets to deliver gas to residents day and night. In his spare time, he painted "Mimi Cat" graffiti on the streets and alleys, which were scattered throughout Tamsui, as if his avatar was guarding the lives of residents. On the other side of Tamsui, the ghost town-like Tamsui New Town is lined with luxury buildings and high-rise buildings. Light rail construction is developing rapidly. Urban development is disappearing. Will Mimi Cat gradually fade away along with the mottled appearance of the old Tamsui?
